Clive Jenkins is mainly an orchestral and choral composer, though he has also written chamber works and pieces for concert band and brass band. He currently works with violinist Peter Fisher (pictured) and the Chamber Ensemble of London.

Nice to be invited to Turkey in February for a performance by Concerto Barocco of my Horn Romance featuring Kerim Gurerk, professor of horn at Izmir Conservatory. He played the piece in London earlier this year. He was great. I gather some of his students have done it in the piano version.

Fingers crossed (though this does tend to impede typing) Plymouth Music Accord has found ways of rescuing the two chamber music series that looked like going to the wall. Plymouth City Council has found a little money and Plymouth University (Peninsula Arts) will run the Saturday evening series. But we still have to raise more cash. Local businesses are very hard hit by the recession so I have applied to some trusts. No doubt other fund-raisers have had the same idea.

My personal effort to raise a few pounds for Plymouth Music Accord - playing piano in our village pub - cannot be reprised. The pub has closed. My wife blames my piano playing...
